Scharly Designer Studio is an award-winning architecture and design firm with studios in Miami Beach and New York City. We serve clients across South Florida, including Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach, as well as the New York and New Jersey metro area. Founded in New York in 2011 and expanded to Miami in 2023, the practice designs luxury residential homes, commercial buildings, and public and cultural projects built on flexibility, precision, and vision.

Lionel Scharly is a French-American architect based in Miami and New York City. He helps high-profile clients across South Florida, New York, and beyond turn ambitious ideas into spaces that perform, endure, and command attention. He holds an Advanced Master in Hypermedia-Multimedia in Architecture from Beaux-Arts de Paris, which grounds his natural use of artificial intelligence in design, along with certifications in Architecture and Urban Planning from Harvard GSD and MIT. That rare combination lets him move fluidly between visionary design and rigorous technical execution.
His expertise includes work on buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, where preservation and modern performance must go hand in hand. In South Florida and other coastal markets, he specializes in hurricane-resistant and flood-resilient architecture designed to FEMA compliance standards, protecting homes and buildings against storm surge, high winds, and rising water.
His practice is built on a legacy of innovation. He developed patented processes for advanced materials in the plastics industry, engineered to make the material eco-friendly and intelligent and to broaden its use across the sector. He is also the inventor of Smart Street Furniture, an IoT-enabled system that reimagines urban infrastructure through connected, responsive design. Drawing on emerging technologies, advanced materials, AI-driven architectural tools, and a human-centered methodology, Lionel creates work that blurs the lines between architecture, interior design, sensory experience, and urban planning. Generative design, AI-assisted visualization, and simulation help de-risk decisions early, giving clients clarity before construction begins.
